Glass Cut to Size
The nature of glass means that it can be cut to a variety of shapes and sizes. Some popular shapes include:
- Circles
- Ovals
- Curves
- Squares
Cutting glass requires many hours of training and practice to master. Precision Glass’ glaziers are all fully trained and qualified to cut glass to the desired shape. Although they make it look easy it is in fact a very difficult process and requires great skill to avoid imperfections, crazing and small cracks, which can cause glass to break suddenly.
Standard Cutting
Most jobs that require glass cutting are for domestic or commercial windows and doors. Despite the simple square or rectangular shape, these are still difficult cuts to make as any imperfection or flaw can result in a sudden break during or after a completed installation. The cutting of safety glass requires an even greater level of skill and should only be undertaken by a qualified glazier.
Complex Shape Cutting
Not all glass cutting is for squares and rectangles, however. Shaped mirrors, glass tables, glass splashbacks and special furniture can often require unique shapes, cut outs or holes of a variety of sizes. Glass for projects such as these are processed either by hand or by automated cutting and polishing machines. This ensures an accurate result every time. Because we regularly maintain and replace our glass tools and machines you are guaranteed the highest standard and quality of glass, every time.
